Grant writing service

We find grants your organisation can actually win, and write the application with you.

A grant search and grant writing service for NGOs, research firms and social enterprises that have never won a grant. A person checks every grant against your legal status, country, track record and leadership before it reaches you.

$750 $250, paid once. Not a subscription.

We never promise funding. We promise grants you qualify for, and a finished application.

What is Startup Map Hub's grant writing service?

Startup Map Hub's grant writing service helps organisations that have never won a grant find grants they are eligible for and prepare a submission-ready application. We check every grant against the organisation's legal status, country, track record and leadership before recommending it. Startup Map Hub does not fund organisations and does not guarantee funding.

Who's behind this

Startup Map Hub is a directory of funding opportunities, and the team that runs it is the team that searches and checks grants for you. Read the story behind Startup Map Hub.

Who it's for

Organisations that do good work and earn some income, but have never won a grant.

Research firms and consultancies with a social-impact arm

You have the expertise and a track record, and you're moving into social-impact work that clients won't pay for.

NGOs with paid staff that have lost a major donor

Your team is in place and the work is proven, but the money it ran on has stopped.

Social enterprises with a public-benefit programme

Part of what you do can't pay for itself commercially, and grants are the right money for it.

If you already have a grants team or a grants office, as most large international NGOs and universities do, you probably don't need us.

If you've lost a major donor

Many organisations lost funding in 2025. The US cancelled 83% of USAID programmes in March 2025 (Al Jazeera), and the UK is reducing aid to 0.3% of national income from 2027 (DevelopmentAid). If that's you, the first job is finding funders whose rules you meet today. That's where we start.

The four worries that stop organisations applying

In the words organisations use with us, and what we do about each one.

“We don't know where the money is.”

We search for you and bring you grants that are open now, each with its deadline.

“We don't know if we even qualify.”

Every grant is checked against your legal status, country, track record and leadership before you see it. If something rules you out, we tell you what it is.

“We don't have time to write it.”

We prepare one application with you until it's ready to submit. Your part is a call, the documents you already have, and answers when we ask.

“We'll spend weeks and get rejected.”

You only spend time on grants you qualify for. Everything we write is saved, so your next application starts from that work, not from a blank page.

What you get

One payment of $250 covers all of it.

  • An onboarding callWe learn how your organisation works before we search for anything.
  • 6 funding opportunities you actually qualify forChecked against your legal status, country and track record, with deadlines.
  • One submission-ready application, prepared with youWe work through it with you until it's ready to submit.
  • The documents funders actually ask forFor grant-seekers: a concept note, an organisational profile, a budget, and a theory of change or monitoring and evaluation framework. For founders: your pitch deck and business plan.
  • A reusable answer bankEvery answer we write with you is saved, so your next application takes hours instead of weeks.
  • Deadline alertsNew matching opportunities sent to you as they come up.
  • Your shortlist within 5 working daysWe can't promise funding, but we do promise matches. If we can't find 6 you're eligible for, we extend your search free.

How it works

  1. Pay once, then we book your onboarding call

Pay online and we contact you to book a call. There's nothing to fill in before it.

  2. We learn how your organisation works

On the call we go through your registration, country, track record and team, because that is what funders check first. Bring what you have and we'll ask for anything missing as we go.

  3. Your shortlist arrives within 5 working days

6 grants that are open and that you qualify for, each with a line on why it fits you.

  4. You choose one

Pick the grant you want to go for. We point out anything to watch for before you commit.

  5. We prepare the application with you

We draft the answers and the documents the funder asks for, and work through them with you until they're ready to submit.

  6. You submit, and keep everything

You submit as the applicant. The concept note, organisational profile, budget and answers stay yours for the next application.

What it takes from your team

About an hour for the onboarding call, the documents you already have (your registration certificate, recent accounts or reports, and your leadership's CVs if you have them), and quick answers when we ask. We do the searching, the checking and the drafting.

Is it worth $250?

Compare it with the usual alternative: someone on your team spends three weeks on an application, and it fails because of an eligibility rule on page 4. We check eligibility before anyone writes a word.

Our promise. We can't promise funding, and no one honestly can. We do promise matches: if we can't find 6 grants you're eligible for, we extend your search for free.

Grant listing sites, a freelance grant writer, or us

Three ways organisations go after grants, side by side.

What you need Grant listing sites Freelance grant writer Startup Map Hub
Finds grants for you No, you search the listings yourself Usually works on a grant you bring Yes, a shortlist of grants open now
Checks that you're eligible No, you read every rule yourself Sometimes Yes, against legal status, country, track record and leadership
Writes the application No Yes Yes, with you
Materials you can reuse No Depends on the writer Yes: concept note, profile, budget and answer bank
Deadline alerts Sometimes, for every listing No Yes, for grants that match you
Price Free or a subscription Usually charged per proposal $250, one-time

Listing sites are useful if you have time to read every eligibility rule yourself. We're for organisations that would rather spend that time on their work.

Questions organisations ask us

Can you guarantee we'll get the grant?

No, and no one honestly can, because the funder decides. What we guarantee is that every grant we bring you is open and that you qualify for it, and that you'll finish with a submission-ready application. If we can't find 6 grants you're eligible for, we extend your search for free.

Does Startup Map Hub fund organisations?

No. Startup Map Hub doesn't give grants, loans or investment. We help organisations find grants they qualify for and prepare the application.

We can find grants ourselves on listing sites. Why pay you?

You can find listings. The hard part is knowing which ones rule you out, and then writing the application. We check eligibility for you before anyone writes a word, and we write the application with you.

Isn't this expensive?

It's $250, paid once. Compare that with a member of staff spending three weeks on an application that fails because of an eligibility rule on page 4.

What if we don't qualify for anything yet?

Then we tell you what's in the way, such as your registration type, a missing document or the need for a partner, so you know exactly what to fix before you apply.

Which countries do you work with?

We work with organisations wherever they're registered. Where you're registered decides which grants you can apply for, so it's one of the first things we check.

Who submits the application?

You do, as the applicant. We prepare it with you until it's ready, and you send it in your organisation's name.

How long does it take?

Your shortlist arrives within 5 working days. How long the application takes depends on the grant you choose, and we work to its deadline.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay $250 once, instead of the usual $750. There's nothing to cancel.

What happens after we pay?

We contact you to book your onboarding call. From then on you can follow every step, from shortlist to finished application, in your dashboard.
