Future Leaders Fellowships: Round 11, business and non-academic

Administered by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Future Leaders Fellowships (Round 11, business and non-academic) provides up to £110 million in funding to support talented individuals with the potential to become future leaders in research and innovation. Hosted by UK registered businesses, charities, not-for-profits, public sector organisations, agri-tech centres, or Catapults, Fellows receive at least four years of funding (with an option to extend for three further years) to establish an independent research or innovation career, develop leadership capabilities, and deliver ambitious, impactful work aligned with UK strategic priorities. Applicants do not need a PhD if they have equivalent experience, and international researchers may apply with the support of an eligible UK host. Grant funding requests must be between £100,000 and £3 million, with most work and funding spent in the UK.

Applications must be submitted online via the Innovation Funding Service (IFS). The Fellow applies alongside their UK host organisation, setting out their project proposal, leadership development plan, and justified project costs.
