About this opportunity
Business Finland's Research, Development and Piloting funding enables companies registered in Finland to execute higher-risk R&D projects faster and on a larger scale. The funding program is aimed at forerunner companies pursuing significant international growth and competitive advantage through ambitious research, development, and piloting, or forerunner companies aiming for a major productivity leap in domestic markets subject to international competition. It supports both tangible technological solutions and intangible developments such as services, business models, management, and work organization, provided the activities qualify as R&D. Funding is provided as a grant or loan depending on the project type and company size. Innovative research projects receive grants covering up to 50% of eligible costs for SMEs (up to 40% for mid-caps and large companies, with an extra 10% for pure industrial research). Development and piloting projects receive low-interest government loans covering 50% to 70% of eligible costs.
How to apply
Companies can register for the My Business Finland online service to discuss business plans with an expert, and submit their project application continuously through the Funding e-service.
