About this opportunity
The Startup Qatar Investment Program, provided by QDB, is designed to attract tech startups to establish or expand their operations in Qatar. It offers funding and a comprehensive package of incentives and support services. The program targets two main categories: "START" for entrepreneurs with a Proof of Concept (PoC) or Minimum Viable Product (MVP) looking to launch in Qatar, offering up to $1.1 million in funding; and "GROW" for established startups seeking to expand their existing operations into the Qatari market, with funding up to $5.5 million. Beyond financial support, benefits include waivers for registration and license renewal costs, flexible work and entrepreneur visa issuance, subsidized co-working spaces, talent and internship support, access to innovation and R&D grants, market access, skilling, training, mentoring, opportunities for showcasing products at exhibitions, and subsidized housing support. The program welcomes tech startups with high-growth, innovative business ideas or knowledge-based concepts that can contribute to Qatar's economic expansion. While open to all innovative and disruptive startups, priority sectors include Climate Tech, AgriTech, B2B SaaS, Energy Tech, HealthTech, FinTech, Marketplaces, EduTech, SportsTech, Supply Chain Tech, Cybersecurity, AI & ML, IoT & Big Data, PropTech, and Robotics & Drones. Funding amounts are trenched based on mutually agreed milestones.
